Character name: Hibiki Kohaku
Age: 24
Canon: BlazBlue
Canon point: Post Act 3 of Hibiki's arcade mode in Centralfiction
History: Wiki link
Three key adjectives: Strict, loyal, organized.
Influential Events:
🔪 The Kohaku family
The Kohaku family is shrouded in mystery; there are almost no records of it existing in the history books, and only a few people are aware of its presence. The members of the family have been serving the Mutsuki family for generations and Hibiki is no exception, even though he is said to be resisting his fate at first. Later on, he becomes a secretary to the Mutsuki heir, Kagura. While Hibiki's childhood and his life with the Kohakus haven't been described in the canon in great detail, a certain character from the playable roster makes it possible to have an insight in how Hibiki looked like as a kid. On top of that, the only word Hibiki repeats when the power is in effect is "kill" (link). This is the only hint as for now, but it's enough of a proof that the Kohaku children were trained to become assassins from a very young age. Obviously, this kind of upbringing is reflected in his personality: Hibiki's incredibly loyal to Kagura and it definitely has its roots in the Kohaku family tradition. It is also very likely that him having a darker side has a strong connection to his past. The same goes for Hibiki's wish to become a tool with no emotions. Due to receiving such harsh training, he doesn't tolerate sloppy and lazy people as well and is very strict towards them—Kagura is no exception.
🔪 Kagura's rebellion
Hibiki, being Kagura's right hand, naturally supports his lord when it comes to the plan to overthrow the Imperator who governs the organization that controls the world (Novus Orbis Librarium or NOL for short). Rather than questioning it, he simply agrees and fulfills every single order that Kagura gives him which proves how deep his loyalty for his lord runs—going against the Imperator means going against the whole organization, after all. Since his duties as a captain involve both doing the paperwork and fieldwork, Hibiki is shown to be quite organized and hard-working. For example, when Kagura is injured, he doesn't lose his cool and gives orders to his subordinates to escort the man to a safe place. Besides, although he admires his superior, he doesn't approve of his carefree lifestyle and is actually even more harsh to Kagura than to anyone else.
🔪 Act 1
After being absorbed into the Embryo (which took a form of a new world), everyone's memories were altered and Hibiki was no exception, but this didn't change his position; he is still working under Kagura's orders. During his chase after Hazama, a captain cooperating with the current Imperator, Hibiki meets Nine the Phantom. Thanks to her machinations, Hibiki's suppressed dream is revealed—he would like to become an emotionless tool and murder Kagura whom he's loyal to. Nine even refers to an instance from Hibiki's past and points out that he wanted to assassinate his lord once before. Hibiki denies everything she says, but at the same time, it's obvious how upset he is after she brings it to light. In order to make this dream come true, he's supposed to go after current Imperator and defeat her. It shows how easily he can suppress his emotions, even though sooner or later they will emerge again.
🔪 Act 2
With his new goal in mind, Hibiki pushes forward restlessly until he reaches the Imperator and challenges her to a battle. Despite saying that he has no interest in making his wishes come true (actually, he still denies that he has one in the first place), the Imperator shows him an image of Kagura's dead body crucified by the common people. Such imagery is more than enough to shake him to the core, especially since it's the result of Kagura planning a rebellion—according to the Imperator, he's going to be executed as a traitor, unless he kills Noel Vermillion whose powers make it impossible to change Kagura's fate. Although Hibiki is aware that Kagura cares deeply about Noel and would be against hurting her in any way, he makes a decision to chase her down and save his lord no matter what, even at the cost of being accused of insubordination. Previously loyal to a fault Hibiki shows his other, much darker side at that moment, even if he believes that everything he does is for Kagura Mutsuki's sake.
🔪 Act 3
Before reaching Noel, Hibiki is told that killing her is equal to destroying the world. Still, he doesn't hesitate to stand against her, even though his attacks are ineffective. It becomes clear that it's impossible to murder her, but Hibiki is persistent and doesn't give up—he even claims, that he's going to fight until his own death which shows his determination to save Kagura. Shortly, he meets Hazama again, who mocks him for serving someone else when he should just accept who he is and become an assassin. Before leaving, Hibiki receives a final hint on how to end Noel's life. While it's never said directly, given Hibiki's change throughout the events inside the Embryo, it's likely that he wants his dream to murder Kagura in cold blood come true; otherwise, he probably wouldn't make an attempt to kill Noel Vermillion in order to keep his lord alive in the first place.

Chosen path: Dancer
3 Abilities: Allure, Hex, Hidden Knife
Why this path?: Hibiki's assassin training left him with impeccable reflexes, extraordinary stealth skills, and an excellent assassination technique which somewhat falls in line with what Dancer class has to offer (he'd arrive without his canon abilities). Actually, he's been offered to join a dance troupe in canon, but he had to politely decline, even though the leader of said troupe said that he has potential. Too bad Hibiki's not really interested in dancing...but he'll have no choice now. Playing out him being flustered to use certain skills from this set should be fun, too.
